The Research Center for Psychological and Educational Testing (RCPET) is a professional measurement institution that serves the integration of development and application for psychological and educational tests. Founded in April 1998, the RCPET aims at developing and administering psychological and educational tests and offers consulting services for schools, government organizations, and private enterprises. With the primary goal of advancing testing research & application, we are dedicated to promoting the dissemination and practical application of educational and psychological assessments and research results all over Taiwan . This Center is currently headed by Professor Yao-Ting Sung , who is responsible for promoting this Center's research and developments.

Our leading tasks include:

  1. Developing various psychological and educational tests;
  2. Conducting research projects on issues concerning psychological and educational testing;
  3. Receiving commission for developing psychological and educational tests;
  4. Organizing international academic exchange programs concerning the development of psychological tests;
  5. Promoting applications and consulting services for psychological tests;
  6. Developing computer software systems for various psychological tests;
  7. Other related issues concerning the development of psychological and educational tests.

Under the leadership of the center director, the RCPET is divided into three divisions: Research & Development, Promotion & Consulting Services, and General Affairs. The main tasks of each division are:

1.Division of Research & Development
Currently, this Center's group leader is Assistant Professor Bo-Hsi Chen, from the Department of Psychology and Counseling.
  • Developing various psychological tests
  • Conducting research projects on psychological tests
  • Holding domestic and international academic collaboration conferences
  • Developing computer software systems for various psychological tests


2.Division of Promotion and Consulting Services
Currently, this Center's group leader is Assistant Professor Sheue-Mei Lu , from the Department of Psychology and Counseling.

  • Managing renting services for psychological tests
  • Providing consulting services for computer scoring, statistical analyses and interpretations of psychological tests
  • Holding seminars for the application of psychological tests Assisting the University to conduct teaching evaluation
3.Division of General Affairs
  • Handling personnel, budgets, and assets management
  • Collecting various psychological tests, theses, periodicals, and other related materials
  • Organizing publishing and purchasing services for the products of the RCPET
  • Dealing with copyright issues for related psychological tests

With exception to the tasks organized by the assistant, Ms. Yi-Hsuan Lee, the center is also currently undertaking a very important task: assisting the Department of Education in formulating strategies to promote the Basic Competence Test for the Junior High School students and organizing the R&D of " The Committee of The Basic Competence Test for Junior High School Students " .
